Dr. Mohammed Nasim, Assistant Professor at IUT, Bangladesh, Receives Grant for Motorcycle accident data collection
The American Association for Automotive Medicine's (AAAM) Motorcycle Safety Special Interest Group (SIG) has announced the recipient of a significant research grant aimed at enhancing motorcycle safety in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Dr. Mohammed Nasim, an esteemed Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) in Gazipur, Bangladesh, emerged as the deserving winner of this $5,000 mini-grant.
The purpose of this grant is to facilitate comprehensive research on motorcycle safety through the collection and analysis of real-world data. The research activities are scheduled to take place between April and December 2023, focusing on understanding the dynamics of motorcycle safety and identifying key factors contributing to accidents within LMICs.
