The safety measures undertaken by the response team at the advent of any emergency case include the following responsibilities:

To ensure the safety of the students and stuffs from erratic fire hazards is of paramount importance. Fire extinguishers according to different classes of fire are provided in or adjacent to every classroom, office room, workshop, and laboratory of the MPE Department. Awareness is instilled into students as well as staffs about the operation of these extinguishers. Moreover, a member of the team is always on standby as the first person on-scene. During the outbreak of a fire, he/she is quick to response, alerts the whole team and safely guides everyone away from fire using the safest route. All the laboratories and workshops are under twenty four hours CCTV surveillance. Furthermore, the laboratories and classrooms are equipped with smoke detector and fire alarms to ensure the quickest response in terms of any emergency fire outbreaks. An obligatory fire safety protocol is established and the fire safety drills according to the protocol is carried out by everyone in the department once in a year.

MPE Laboratories and Workshops are well equipped as the department believe safety is the first concern. Despite following all the lab procedures, any student falling victim to serious chemical injury is immediately taken to the lab instructor who acts as the first person on-scene and establishes communication with the quick response team. Then the team or the coordinator decides whether to take the victim to the nearest medical facility depending upon the severity of the injury.
• Emergency Evacuation
In case of any kind of emergency which demands immediate evacuation starts with the alarm(s) ringing in the first place. The students, faculty members and staff are well informed about the emergency evacuation routes and main gathering point at that point. The quick response team of MPE will lead the emergency evacuation and take necessary steps to ensure safety of the stakeholders.
