On 29 January 2026, the ASME IUT Student Section organized ASpireME 2024, the official orientation program for Batch '24, at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur. The event welcomed over 100 newly admitted students and was graced by Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Honorable Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. M. Ahsan Habib, Head of the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering; Dr. Md. Anayet Ullah Patwari, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; and Dr. Madihah Binti Haji Maharof, Section Moderator. Through interactive games, networking sessions, and introductory activities, the program familiarized students with ASME, encouraged active participation in extracurricular activities, and fostered a sense of belonging within the IUT community. The event supported IUT's Outcome-Based Education (OBE) objectives by promoting leadership, teamwork, communication, and student engagement while strengthening the university's institutional branding. No external sponsorship or financial support was involved.

The ASME IUT Student Section organized PIXELATE 2025, an intra-IUT digital poster design competition aimed at encouraging students to showcase their technical knowledge, analytical skills, and creative abilities through digital poster design. The competition provided participants with an opportunity to communicate engineering and technical ideas in a visually engaging and impactful manner while exploring the intersection of design, innovation, and engineering.

Through the competition, participants were encouraged to transform ideas into visually compelling technical posters, strengthening their skills in scientific communication, visual presentation, and creative problem-solving. The event supported IUT's Outcome-Based Education (OBE) objectives by promoting creativity, communication, analytical thinking, and technical expression among students. It also contributed to students' professional development by providing practical experience in presenting technical concepts effectively through digital media.

Event NameIndustrial Tour to Walton High Tech Park

On 25 July 2026, the ASME IUT Student Section organized an industry tour to Walton Hi-Tech Park, Kaliakair, Gazipur, in collaboration with Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC. The visit was attended by approximately 50–60 students and accompanied by the Section Moderator, Dr. Madihah Binti Haji Maharof, and Mr. Imrul Kayes, Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering. The tour aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industrial practice by providing firsthand exposure to modern manufacturing processes, operational systems, quality control, and the professional working environment of one of Bangladesh's leading technology companies. Students interacted with industry professionals and observed advanced production facilities, enhancing their practical knowledge and career readiness. The program supported IUT's Outcome-Based Education (OBE) objectives by promoting experiential learning and strengthening industry–academia collaboration. The event also contributed to IUT's institutional branding by fostering professional development and producing industry-ready engineering graduates. As part of ASME's Community Impact Month, the ASME IUT Student Section organized a community outreach program at Rajab Ali Bidyaniketan to promote environmental awareness and healthy hygiene practices among schoolchildren. The program included interactive sessions on personal hygiene, cleanliness, and proper waste disposal, encouraging students to adopt responsible daily habits. A live demonstration of a Smart AI Garbage Sorter showcased how engineering and artificial intelligence can be applied to address real-world environmental challenges. To ensure a lasting impact, the Section donated two waste bins to the school, supporting improved waste management practices. The initiative strengthened IUT's commitment to community engagement and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) by enabling students to apply engineering knowledge for social benefit while enhancing their communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. The program also reinforced IUT's institutional branding through meaningful community service and engineering outreach.

The ASME IUT Student Section organized an online guideline session titled “From Curiosity to Discovery: How to Start Your Research Journey” on 20 August 2026 through Google Meet. The session aimed to guide aspiring researchers in beginning their research journey with clarity and confidence. The session was conducted by Dr. Md. Abu Shaid Sujon, Assistant Professor at the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), who completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Drawing upon his academic and research experience in advanced materials, composite mechanics, polymer processing, and sustainable material systems, Dr. Sujon provided valuable perspectives on initiating research and navigating the early stages of academic exploration. The program supported IUT's Outcome-Based Education (OBE) objectives by encouraging research-oriented thinking, curiosity, academic exploration, and professional development among students. It also contributed to strengthening students' awareness of research opportunities and developing their confidence to pursue research as part of their academic and professional growth.
