The MPE department successfully organized a session titled “Sharing Indonesia's Best Practices on Sign Literacy for the Deaf and Mute” on March 22, 2024, via Zoom as part of its social awareness program for the students. Specifically, MPE 20 batch students from various nationalities, including Bangladesh, Comoros, Nigeria, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, and Ivory Coast, attended this session as part of their ME 4602 (Communications for Engineers) and IPE 4602 (Business Communication) courses. The session was arranged in collaboration with LAJNAH PENTASHIHAN MUSHAF AL-QUR’AN (LPMQ) - Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. Since 1965, the Indonesian government has established Lajnah Pentashih Mushaf Al-Qur'an,comprising scholars and experts from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ministry of Culture and Education, to validate Qur'ans published in Indonesia. The main theme of this session was to facilitate an inclusiveness program for all related elements and especially the special needs persons (the Deaf) in social development activity and to arise technical stakeholders to study and provide more suitable device for the Mute. We express sincere gratitude to the esteemed resource persons and all participants for their invaluable contributions in transforming this session into a meaningful and impactful learning experience.
