Dr. Muhammad Rizwanur Rahman, D.I.C.
Assistant Professor
I am interested in everything that flows - not just fluids, but society and life itself. I look for patterns in flows that are ephemeral, and attempt to link them with those that prevail in the expansively large scale. Joined IUT as an Assistant Professor in 2025, and affiliated with Imperial College London as an Academic Visitor. Besides teaching and training the next generation of engineers, I continue to pursue a deeper understanding of interfacial physics. Before beginning my professional career, I received my doctoral training from Imperial, examining how deterministic fluid behaviour emerges from underlying molecular stochasticity. Key awards include: UK Best Thesis Award in Fluid Mechanics (2025) by the UK Fluids Network, the BEIT Fellowship for Scientific Research by Imperial College London (2021-2024), Shell PhD Studentship by Shell Global Solutions (2021-2024), Alberta Graduate Excellence Award by University of Alberta (2019).
Specialization
