Dr. Md Hamidur Rahman
Head of the Department
Dr. Md. Hamidur Rahman, has been serving as Professor and Head in the
Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering of Islamic University of
Technology. He has expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and can
efficiently handle CFD tools applicable for the aerospace industry,
transportation industry and environmental sector. Dr. Rahman is very much
aligned to his research activities in the field of Thermo-Fluid applications of
CFD in Gas Turbine tip leakage flow, film cooling, aerodynamic braking system
of high-speed vehicle, environmental simulation such as emissions and
dispersions from contaminating source, riverbed erosion etc. He has a number of
international and national peer reviewed journal publications and technical
publications in international conferences. In his professional career he served
as a reviewer for several prestigious international journals and conferences
such as ACFM, ASME conferences, Journal of Indoor and Built Environment etc. He
is also attached as member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME),
USA. He is affiliated with Engineers Institution of Bangladesh (IEB) and
Bangladesh Society for Mechanical Engineers (BSME).
Specialization : CFD in Gas Turbine engine, External Aerodynamic, Environmental emissions, river bed scouring, Solar Energy Conversion, Ocean energy conversion, Waste to Energy conversion.
